Permanent Replacements for Missing Teeth
What are dental implants?
Dental implants, work as a replacement for your missing teeth. Made of titanium, implants are placed by an oral surgeon in the jaw to permanently hold the porcelain teeth or dentures. Titanium, being biocompatible, fuses with the bone and becomes a solid permanent part of the natural anatomy of the patient.
How do dental implants work?
A small incision is made in the gum to expose the bone. A titanium post is anchored into the prepared bone. After a few months the bone heals around the implant, an abutment is then placed to hold the final crown, bridgework, or denture. The results are solid, functional and beautiful.
